Starting in Casablanca, this journey connects the Atlantic coast to the imperial heart of Fes before heading south. Unlike shorter tours, this route includes an overnight stay in Midelt, which breaks up the long drive to the Sahara and allows for a more intimate look at the Middle Atlas mountains. The trip concludes with an extensive stay in Marrakech, providing a perfect blend of guided discovery and independent exploration.
Our 9 days from Casablanca will start from Casablanca Airport where we will meet and collect you and go to Fez. We will pass through Rabat and Meknes cities before arriving at Fez where you will spend the night.
Following breakfast in your riad, we start a guided tour of the city’s most significant landmarks. Highlights include the 15th-century Mellah (Jewish quarter), the majestic Royal Palace gate, and the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. You will also visit the historic Kairaouine Mosque and University before enjoying free time to wander through the vibrant souks.
Spend the morning further discovering Fes or enjoying its monuments at your own pace. At 11:00 AM, our journey continues toward Midelt, passing through Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its alpine charm. After seeing the black birds in Ifrane, we visit the aromatic Cedar Forest of Azrou to meet the resident Barbary macaque monkeys. We then follow the scenic Atlas mountain routes to reach Midelt for the night.
Once breakfast is finished, we travel south toward Merzouga via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley. A stop at the Tizi N’talghomt pass offers fantastic views of the mountains, while the Ziz Gorge provides a stunning backdrop of palm-fringed rivers. Upon arriving in Merzouga, enjoy a welcoming glass of mint tea before embarking on a camel trek into the dunes. The night is spent under the stars in traditional Berber tents, accompanied by the rhythm of drum music.
Waking up early allows you to witness a spectacular desert sunrise before the camel trek back to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Our next stop is Rissani to visit an ancient market famous for its handicrafts and dates. From there, we explore the towering walls of the Todra Gorge and head into the Dades Valley to see the unique “Monkeys Toes” rock formations. Your overnight stay will be in the heart of the Dades Gorge.
Leaving the Dades Gorge after breakfast, we drive through the Skoura oasis and its authentic Kasbahs. We soon reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of the Desert,” where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. The adventure continues to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a world-famous fortified village. Finally, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass to reach Marrakech.
The full day will be spent in Marrakesh City with a local guide, starting with famous square of Jamaa el Fna, which dwells an array of food, local musicians and fortune tellers. Then we will visit Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs and the Koutoubia minaret. Later you can enjoy your free time by walking through the souks. Overnight stay will be in a riad/hotel.
The eighth day will be your free day in Marrakesh so you can discover the shops and souks or just relax in the Marrakesh atmosphere.
During the day we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight home. Here ou 9 days from Casablanca ends.
