We leave Marrakech to Imlil at 70 km of paved road of Marrakech. Meeting with the muleteers, baggage loading and beginning of hiking. We pass next to the village of Aremd (1900 m) 15 minutes of Imlil. We continue towards Sidi Shamharoush, wonderful Berber villages.cultures on the terrace, irrigation canals… Picnic lunch. Night in the Neltner refuge.
The ascent of the highest peak of Morocco is done without any major difficulty. A stony path goes near the shelter, then it gets more narrow, crowded Valley big blocks. The final way is wide and goes down gradually to approach the Summit plunging yet in great cliffs on Ifni Lake on opposite side. Picnic lunch along the way. A nice descent takes us from arid mountain to the irrigated valleys that pass by Sidi Chamharoush to the beautiful cultivated replat of Aremd. End of the trekking in Imlil where our minibus leads us in a short time on Marrakech; along the way a few displays of minerals of the presahariens massifs (Amethyst, Galena, gypsum…) waiting for the barge.
